Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Flowwtools may collect when you visit or use the site, how that information is used and the choices available to you. By using Flowwtools, you acknowledge the practices described here.

1. Introduction

Flowwtools ("Flowwtools," "we," "us," or "our") provides web development tools that help developers and Webflow professionals work with HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

2. Information we collect

The information we collect depends on how you use Flowwtools.

Information you provide

Using the Code Converter requires an account. When you create one, you provide an email address and either a password or your consent to sign in with Google; if you sign in with Google, we receive the information described under "Information we receive from Google" below. Accounts are not required for the Rich Text Styler or for browsing the rest of the site.

You can optionally set a first and last name on your account page. They are stored with your account by our authentication provider, Supabase and shown in the site's account menu and on your account page. You can change or remove them at any time.

When you use the converter, you may provide HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or other code as input. This content is processed to provide the conversion functionality.

Information we receive from Google

If you choose "Continue with Google", Flowwtools requests only Google's basic sign-in permissions (email and profile). With your consent, Google shares the following with us:

  • Your email address and whether Google has verified it
  • Your name, as shown on your Google account
  • The web address of your Google profile picture
  • A unique Google account identifier used to associate your Google sign-in with your Flowwtools account

How we use it. We use this information only to create your Flowwtools account, sign you in and show your name and profile picture in the site's account menu and on your account page. We do not use it for advertising, we do not sell it and we do not use it to build profiles of you. Flowwtools does not request access to your Gmail, Google Drive, contacts, calendar, or any other Google service and cannot read anything from your Google account beyond the items listed above.

How we store it. This information is stored with your account by our authentication provider, Supabase, which processes it on our behalf. Your sign-in session is kept in your browser as described in section 5.

How we protect it. Information received from Google is sent only over encrypted HTTPS connections and is stored encrypted by our authentication provider and access to it is restricted to operating your account.

How we share it. We do not share information received from Google with anyone except Supabase, which stores it to provide sign-in and only as far as needed to operate the service or where required by law.

Retention and deletion. We keep this information for as long as your account exists. You can request deletion of your account at any time by emailing support@flowwtools.dev or using the Feedback or Report a bug forms in the footer. We will process the request and delete your account and the Google information stored with it. You can also remove Flowwtools' access at any time from your Google Account connections page.

Flowwtools' use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Technical and usage information

When you visit or use Flowwtools, certain technical information may be collected automatically by our website infrastructure and analytics services. This may include:

  • IP address
  • Browser type and version
  • Device or operating-system information
  • Pages visited
  • Referring pages
  • Approximate geographic information
  • Interactions with the website
  • Information about how features are used

The specific information collected depends on the services and configuration used by Flowwtools.

3. Analytics

Flowwtools uses Google Analytics and Cloudflare Web Analytics across the site and PostHog on the Code Converter and Rich Text Styler pages, to understand how visitors use the website and how the product is used. Analytics may help us understand:

  • Which pages and features are used
  • How visitors navigate the website
  • Which product features are useful
  • Where users encounter problems
  • How we can improve Flowwtools

On those two pages and on the conversion server, PostHog also receives error reports when something breaks unexpectedly. These reports may include the type of error, where it occurred in Flowwtools' code, the affected page or route and technical details such as the HTTP status. Error reports do not contain the code you submit, the error message, or your email address.

Google Analytics, Cloudflare Web Analytics and PostHog may process technical and usage information on our behalf. For information about how each service handles data, please refer to its own privacy documentation.

We configure analytics to support product and website improvement and do not intentionally collect more personal information than is necessary for these purposes.

Separately from analytics, Flowwtools uses Supabase to provide account sign-up and sign-in and to store account data, which consists of your email address, your sign-in method, your name and profile picture if you sign in with Google and authentication records such as when your account was created and when you last signed in. If you sign up with a password, it is sent from your browser to Supabase and is handled and stored by Supabase; it never passes through or is stored on Flowwtools' own servers. Supabase processes this information on our behalf; see the Supabase Privacy Policy. We do not send your submitted code to Supabase. We use Resend to deliver account emails such as sign-up verification and password reset; this shares your email address with Resend for the purpose of sending those messages. Resend also records when a link in one of these emails is clicked, which helps confirm delivery. See the Resend Privacy Policy. We do not send your submitted code to Resend.

4. Code and content submitted to the converter

Flowwtools allows users to submit HTML, CSS and JavaScript for conversion. The submitted code is used to provide the requested conversion functionality.

You should not submit confidential, sensitive, or proprietary information unless you are comfortable processing that information through the service.

Flowwtools does not claim ownership of code that you submit to the service.

Code you submit to the converter is processed in memory to produce your result and is not written to a database or to persistent storage by Flowwtools. We do not record the content of your HTML, CSS or JavaScript in our logs. If a conversion fails, we log the technical error and a short reference identifier so the problem can be diagnosed, but not the code that caused it. When an unexpected failure occurs, the technical error report described in Section 3 is also sent to PostHog. It does not include the error message or the code you submitted. Requests may still pass through our hosting and infrastructure providers, whose own logging is governed by their terms.

To protect the service, the converter applies limits to the size of submitted code and to how many requests may be made from a single network address in a short period. These limits may change as Flowwtools develops.

The Rich Text Styler runs entirely in your browser. The styles you set and any CSS you paste into it are never sent to Flowwtools and nothing from it is stored. Our analytics record only anonymous usage measurements about the page, such as how many styles were set and whether a copy succeeded; the CSS itself and the class name you choose are excluded from analytics and from session recordings.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

Flowwtools does not currently operate a separate advertising or marketing-cookie system. However, Flowwtools and third-party services used by the website may use cookies, local storage, or similar technologies where necessary for functionality, analytics, security, or other legitimate purposes.

When you sign in, your authentication session (including the access and refresh tokens that keep you signed in) is stored in your browser's local storage by Supabase. This is required for sign-in to work and it stays on your device until you sign out or clear your browser storage. Signing out removes it.

If you hide the free tools card on the converter page, that choice is saved in your browser's local storage so the card stays hidden on later visits. It holds only that setting, never your code or personal information and is not sent to us. Clearing your browser storage brings the card back.

The technologies actually used may change as Flowwtools develops. Where applicable, you may be able to control cookies and similar technologies through your browser settings.

6. How we use information

We may use collected information to:

  • Operate and provide Flowwtools
  • Process conversion requests
  • Maintain and improve the website
  • Understand product usage
  • Diagnose technical problems
  • Monitor service performance
  • Prevent abuse and protect the service
  • Maintain security
  • Develop new features
  • Respond to support requests
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations

We do not sell personal information to third parties.

7. Third-party services

Flowwtools currently uses third-party services to operate and understand the product. These may include:

  • Google Analytics: website analytics
  • Cloudflare: website hosting, delivery, security and analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics)
  • PostHog: product analytics on the Code Converter and Rich Text Styler pages
  • Supabase: authentication and storage of account data (see the Supabase Privacy Policy)
  • Resend: delivery of account emails such as sign-up verification and password reset (see the Resend Privacy Policy)
  • Google Sign-In: authentication, only if you choose to sign in with Google; Google shares your email address, name and profile picture with us (see section 2)
  • Hosting, infrastructure and security providers required to operate Flowwtools

These providers may process information on our behalf according to their respective terms and privacy policies.

8. Data retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including operating the service, maintaining security, analyzing product usage, resolving disputes and complying with legal obligations.

Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and the service through which it is processed.

9. Data security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information processed through Flowwtools. However, no internet-based service can guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for deciding what information and code you submit to the service.

10. Your rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights regarding your personal information, which may include the right to:

  • Request access to personal information
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Request data portability
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

To make a privacy-related request, including a request to delete your account, email support@flowwtools.dev or use the Feedback or Report a bug forms in the footer. We will process account deletion requests manually.

11. Children's privacy

Flowwtools is intended for developers and other users of web development tools. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us at support@flowwtools.dev.

12. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Flowwtools, our technology, or applicable legal requirements change. When we make changes, we will update the Effective Date at the top of this page.
